Equipment Requirements

Dear candidate, we're so excited to know you're considering one of our Mexico-based roles!

All of the Porch contractors need to meet specific requirements when it comes to their hardware, mobile devices, and internet connection. Below you have all the details for all types of equipment and towards the bottom of the page you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to verify these details for your devices.

 

Hardware requirements:

Minimum Windows OS requirements:

  • Processor:

    • Intel Core i5 or higher, 8th generation or newer, Dual-Core or more, 1.7 gigahertz or faster

    • AMD Ryzen 5th generation or newer, Dual-Core or more, 1.5 gigahertz or faster

  • Memory (RAM): At least 8 GB

  • Hard Drive Type: SSD

  • Hard Drive Capacity: At least 128 GB capacity and 1 GB available storage

  • TPM Chip 2.0: Required for Windows 11

Computer Software Requirements

  • Operating System: Only one of the supported Operating Systems below directly installed:

    • Windows: Windows 11, version 22H2 or 23H2

  • Web Browsers: Windows:

    • Microsoft Edge (Chromium Based) or Google Chrome

  • Work Applications: 64-bit

General requirements:

  • Web browser Google Chrome is preferred.

  • Current OS and antivirus updates installed.

  • Antivirus and Antimalware scans must be run weekly.

Network connectivity requirements:

  • Minimum internet speed requirements: 30mbps down 10mpbs up.

  • A hardwired Ethernet connection is required. 

  • To maintain high VPN speeds, no non-work related bandwidth-intensive websites or applications should be run on your work computer during business hours.

Minimum mobile OS requirements:

  • The device must be capable of running major versions of iOS or Android OS released in the last 2 years.

  • The device must be protected with an automatic screen lock and require a passcode, FaceId, or Fingerprint to unlock

  • Okta Verify app is required (Okta Browser and OS Support Policy).
